In the last blog we looked at emotions, it links to the mind and emotional intelligence. In the current blog we shall touch upon the links between mind and the actions that we carry out. Broadly we look into the inner actions and outer actions of the mind.
Actions
Outward Actions
In the current social scenario action is looked upon as one of the most desired qualities in a person. By action people are referring to the outward activities performed by a person. This action can vary from the mundane to "Mission to Mars". The reference to mundane tasks involves like hearing music and numerous other similar tasks. In all type of activities there is involvement of the mind.From large corporations to individual business owners, we often find the term "work culture", "employee well being" given priority and attention. These large corporations and business owners understand the importance of having people with the right mind set, attitude and approach to work. So mind plays a crucial aspect in the actions we undertake. Getting this wrong has negative consequences for the business and corporations.
Even when it comes to personal relationships our quality of our actions are primarily determined by the type of mind we carry. Its a well established fact the action seems effortless when people involved have a healthy and a happy mindset and outlook.
Action the King - The madness
Action has gained so much importance that , in certain groups/societies even the worth of the individual is measured by it ! It's a badge of honor to carry around show the breadth and depth of action an individual is involved in. The term "Rest" is viewed up as a no no.
Action as an escape
Now a days actions are being used as a tool to escape from the constant chatter of the mind, for the mind and by the mind. We can observe people unable to sit quietly for a minute or two, they need some form of action that keeps the mind busy, a distraction to be blunt.
Action as a tool for control
It's come to a point where certain actions have be classified as exclusive, and only capable of being executed efficiently by a few group of people. Its painful to see these ideas being propagated. Its against the natural quality of the mind which loves to explore and learn. The beauty is everyone can explore and learn if the necessary intent, will and skill are developed.
Action and Artificial Intelligence
One of the heartful things to see is as artificial intelligence grows and evolves it breaks the set stereo types, that action and execution excellency by genetic makeup or by any other man made classification. One the other hand chances are high for increased rates of more mental depression amongst individuals that have overly identified themselves to the action they perform.Inner Action
We touched upon briefly the intent and the will of the mind earlier. As general sciences are focused more on the outward actions, there are internal actions too. Intention, will, thoughts are a few pointers that we can list, that reflect the inner actions happening in the mind.Why does inner action matter?
Like it or not, the quality with which we perform any outward action, invariably ends up reflecting the inner actions the mind is involved in. Outcomes of same actions performed in anger, fear and joy are not the same. Yet very little is spoken about the inner actions of the mind and dismissed as mind's chatter.
Diving deep into what is this chatter, where, why and how it happens is one of the primary and a necessary step an individual needs to take for a healthy mind and healthy living. This is more relevant in the current info age we live in, as we are constantly pounding the mind with more more information each and every day.
I feel this blog is not the apt place to discuss more about mind and its chatter. Anyway let us take actions that create a beautiful mind and a beautiful place to live in.
